  • Identify 5 scenarios that stimulate anxiety

  • Work through a variety of healthy coping mechanisms

  • Establish 3 tactics that resonate most to decrease anxiety in real time

“I just want to believe I can actually achieve my goals.”

Create an incrementally challenging habit building plan.

  • Write physical daily affirmations (30 days)

  • Instill a routine sleep schedule (30-60 days)

  • Organize weekly calendar to address academic, social, and extracurricular commitments (60-90 days)

“I’m lonely - I’d like to make a new friend.”

Teach mentee to recognize their own strengths, and develop complimentary social strategies.

  • Flesh out 4 strategies to initiate social interactions which compliment the mentee’s personality

6 month goals

“I want to start building out tangible goals about my future, now that I feel more confident.”

Prioritize what goals you want to achieve in the next 12 months.

  • List the 5 goals that you and your support system would like to accomplish

  • Build out a 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 month benchmarks to hit each of those individual goals

  • Institute a weekly cadence to monitor work output

“I’d like to cultivate deeper in person relationships with the people I constantly interact with.”

Detox from social media.

  • Identify the 5 activities that you value experiencing with others

  • Make a weekly plan to do one in-person activity for at least 60 minutes with someone you’d like to know better

  • Only text or use social media to schedule physical events

12 month goals

“I’d like to showcase my progress in mental health.”

Determine the degree of outward visibility you feel comfortable with.

  • Discuss with your mentor if a mental health related field is of interest to you

  • Journal monthly updates on your well-being

  • Prompt 3 other friends in your friend group to indulge in self-care practices

“I’m excited to becoming one of the highest achievers in my friend group.”

Expand horizon of support system group.

  • Reflect on the past year and identify 2 tasks that were effective and 2 that were ineffective in working towards your goals

  • Empower teens to embrace personal growth and explore new friendships that align with their evolving identities

  • Discuss your goals with 2 other individuals in your support group who can leverage additional resources for you

“I want to feel comfortable in social settings, not just with my friends.”

Increase exposure to stressors to build resilience.

  • Outline a timeline of all potential social events in the next 3 months

  • Build a plan to confidently attend each event

  • Determine cadence to communicate and grade success of exposure within 24 hours of each event
