Hank,

22

Pronouns:

He/Him

Education:

UCSD

Bio:

I was born and raised in Chicago and I am the youngest of 5. I had a lot of difficulty in high school; living with my single mother and one brother, we had to move 5 times in those 4 years. I was able to graduate on time after failing 6 classes in my freshman year. I spent my first college semester in Northern India and moved to Los Angeles after, where I worked for 8 years in food service and attended community college. I am super passionate about helping teens that are going through family or parental divorce. I have gone through this, and it was a challenging & formative time in my adolescence. I would love to be able to help someone else going through along with mentoring someone who might be experiencing academic challenges. My journey with education has been protracted as I have taken my time to find a fulfilling academic program for my undergraduate degree.

What I'm doing currently:

I am actually about to start a long solo travel trip to Southeast Asia, I am hoping to find some opportunities there to volunteer!

Life experiences:

Peer pressure
Social anxiety
Fear of failure
Test anxiety
